Oxfai is built on absolute data minimization and zero-exposure client networks, aligned with international GDPR standards.

1. Isolated telemetry

Identity and sync via encrypted Firebase Auth. Academic files stored in authenticated cloud partitions, invisible to external entities.

2. Fair use & intellectual property

100% server-side library router. Anonymized search vectors. Abstracts truncated under 250 words before temporary indexing. No publisher full text.

Academic research notice

Queries proxied to Springer Nature, Crossref, arXiv, and OpenAlex. Keywords analyzed anonymously to optimize cache.

3. Cryptographic safeguards

SHA-256 hashed UIDs before server logging. Diagnostic logs without cleartext parameters.

By registering an Oxfai authentication node, you accept the quota limits below.

1. Our plans & your academic journey

Freemium includes library search (10/day), group chat, and Morning Note — labelled banner ads in Grades (ECTS), Backpack, and Focus timers only; AI Tutor is ad-free for all tiers.

2. Freemium advertising & Oxfai Coins

Labelled banner ads are strictly limited to utility screens: Grades (ECTS), Backpack document vaults, and Focus countdown timers. The AI Tutor engine remains 100% ad-free for all student tiers.

2b. Oxfai Coins (consumable StoreKit 2)

Oxfai Coins are non-subscription consumables purchased in-app (packs of 50, 150 or 300 coins).

3. Subscriptions, consumables & billing (StoreKit 2)

Prestige and Prestige+ are auto-renewable subscriptions billed exclusively by Apple (StoreKit 2). The Sonnet Boost Pack is a one-time, non-recurring consumable also billed by Apple. You can upgrade, downgrade, restore purchases or cancel auto-renewable subscriptions anytime from Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Services begin immediately after Apple validates your purchase. Refunds follow Apple's digital content policy for the region where you subscribed; consumables are non-refundable once delivered. Annual plans are billed in full upfront with the same renewal/cancellation rules.

4. What each tier is designed for

Freemium supports discovery and daily habits on campus — library search, group chat, the daily Morning Note ritual and optional rewarded unlocks, without free AI. Prestige supports a full academic term: deeper tutoring, ethical assignment preparation, automated revision decks and peer study without advertising interruptions. Prestige+ supports peak workload windows (medical PACES, law bar prep, engineering finals, thesis writing) when you need longer, more analytical AI sessions. The free 10-library research hub and daily Morning Note remain open to ALL registered students regardless of tier.

5. Federated libraries — free for everyone

All registered students — Freemium, Prestige and Prestige+ — receive unlimited, no-cost metadata search across 10 academic channels: Springer Nature, JSTOR, IEEE Xplore, ScienceDirect, Emerald Insight, LexisNexis, Semantic Scholar, arXiv, PubMed, and Open Case Law. Results are metadata and truncated abstracts (≤ 250 words for DMCA fair-use compliance) only. Oxfai does not host publisher full text; links resolve to official publisher landing pages where the user's institutional subscription or the publisher's open-access policy governs full-text access.

6. Cost-guardrails & service continuity

To guarantee continuous service quality, Oxfai applies internal AI cost guardrails ($5.50/month Prestige, $9.00/month Prestige+). When a subscriber reaches the monthly Sonnet sub-quota or internal cost ceiling, complex queries automatically and silently fall back to the Haiku model — the tutor always responds. Study Room minutes are capped (220/month Prestige, 480/month Prestige+) to ensure infrastructure stability.

7. Academic responsibility & integrity

Oxfai is a complementary cognitive analysis tool. We do not guarantee academic grades or exam performance. Students remain solely responsible for the originality and integrity of work submitted to their universities. The Honor Shield feature is an advisory analysis tool, not an official anti-plagiarism certification.

8. Limitation of liability

Oxfai is provided "as is" without warranty of uninterrupted availability. Aggregate liability is limited to the most recent subscription payment made by the user. Use of the platform implies full acceptance of these terms.
